Thai Beverage wants to buy 40% shares of Saigon Beer Alcohol and Beverage Company (Sabeco).

Sabeco is currently 89% owned by the Government.

The above official also said that Singha Group (Thailand) – the manufacturer of Singha Beer, has expressed interest in Sabeco.

Saigon Beer is being noticed by two major Thai beer companies.

This person only revealed that ThaiBev leaders met with Minister of Industry and Trade – Vu Huy Hoang about the deal with Sabeco.

According to this official, Mr. Tuat has not yet met with ThaiBev.

Vietnam is an attractive market for foreign investors, due to its great growth potential in the beer segment.

Sabeco currently controls nearly 46% of Vietnam’s beer market share.

In addition, another company of this billionaire, beverage company Fraser & Neave, failed to acquire a Myanmar beer company.

The Singha Beer brand was built by the Bhirombhakdi family.

Previously, the Vietnamese Government planned to sell shares in Sabeco to strategic investors.
