Johan Volanthen and Rick Stanton were the first two British divers to find the Thai teenage football team trapped in Tham Luang cave on July 2 after 9 days of disappearance.

After taking a flight from Thailand to Heathrow, England last night, July 12, Volanthen shared his feelings when he first interacted with the young football players in Tham Luang cave after many days of being trapped.

“We are very happy and relieved to know that they are all alive.

“We are not heroes.

After the rescue operation for the Thai football team was completed, many people proposed to reward the two British divers for their efforts.

“If you can do something for the kids, you will do it.

Volanthen’s discovery of the young players in the cave is considered an unexpected stroke of luck.

Johan Volanthen, in his 40s, is an IT consultant in Bristol, and Rick Stanton, in his 50s, is a firefighter from Coventry.

“This shows our appreciation, our Prime Minister has offered to give it to you.
