At a press conference on September 21, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin strongly criticized the US sending its high-ranking officials to Taiwan in recent months.

Mr. Wang warned that US actions would continue to damage US-China relations and cooperation between the two countries in international affairs.

According to Mr. Wang, China has always vehemently opposed any official exchanges between the US and Taiwan.

““Taiwan independence” is the road to death.

“We call on the US to correct its mistakes, stop all military and official contacts with Taiwan, stop interfering in China’s internal affairs, and stop statements and acts that could

The statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman was made after US Deputy Secretary of State Keith Krach ended a 3-day visit to Taiwan.

Previously, US Secretary of Health Alex Azar also made a trip to Taiwan in August, becoming the highest-ranking US official to visit this island since Washington stopped diplomatic relations with Taipei to support North Korea.

Taiwan claims the right to counterattack

The Taiwan Defense Agency said on September 21 that many Chinese aircraft crossed the median line in the Taiwan Strait and entered the island’s air defense identification zone on September 18-19.

Taiwan said it had `clearly defined` its emergency response procedures amid `a sharp increase in the frequency of harassment and threats from enemy warships and aircraft this year.`

Taiwan declares that it has the right to defend and counterattack, affirming that it is `not afraid of the enemy` but also does not provoke.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin on September 21 declared that Taiwan `is an inseparable part of Chinese territory` and `the so-called median line of the strait does not exist`.

According to statistics from the Taiwan Defense Agency, on September 18-19, a total of 37 Chinese aircraft passed through the median line, including H-6 bombers and J-Fighters.

“What we see now is not just the situation around the Taiwan Strait, but the situation of the entire region.
